After a fresh clean rebuild of Windows 7 Home Ediition 64bit OEM on a Dell XPS Studion 9100, I now have new problem.

This time its "A program on your computer has corrupted your default seach provider setting". Thats pretty funny given the only program I installed in Windows 7 !

I cant even change the default. The option to change is there, ie "Set Default" is not greyed out, but if I try to select anything other than Bing, it does not execute if selected. As well, I cannot remove Bing as the default. Nice!

The error message comes up every time I type an adderess in IE or navigate away from the home page. It does not come up when I open IE and do nothing else.

The error was there even when IE8 was loaded as pert of the install - I was hoping it would dissapear when IE9 was installed.

I can live with a undesirable search provider, but how do I eliminate the error mesasge?

I read a few posts on this ; most suggestting convoluted registry setting changes, but I opted instead to delete the user account and create a new oine. Problem resolved.
