Corrupted CBS.log File

Hello good people,

I had started a post in Drivers as my main issue was a disappearing Ralink WiFi Adapter and thought it too be a deeper issue. Here is that forum: http://www.sevenforums.com/network-sharing/306691-ralink-rt5390-wifi-adapter-continuously-uninstalling.html#post2548468.

Thanks to tjg79, I have found the issue to hopefully be a corrupted CBS.log file found when running SFC /scannow. The prompt says that "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.Log."

I did the second option for advanced users in your first link but asked to replace with a good copy. Where would I get a good copy of the CBS Log?

You may be able to extract that file from your distribution CD is you have one.

Create a restore point before you do anything to the file so you can undo anything that doesn't work.

You might want to consider a Windows Repair operation.

Check the tutorials section for the different methods of repairing windows.

Unfortunately my CD is a 32 bit version as I've had several hard drive issues and was fortunate enough to have a 64 bit installed during those repairs.

So if at all possible, I would like to be able to stick to the 64 bit version if repairs can be done without the cd.

Can you borrow a copy of the Win 7 x64 CD?

If there is a way to upload and download a copy of the Win 7 x64 iso, someone could create an iso from their Win 7 x64 CD, upload the image and you could download the image.

If you contact the person that did the previous repairs and upgrade to Win 7 x64, they may be able to send or upload the image.

Well the only other issue is the product key that I don't have, but I suspect I could grab that from the person who installed x64.
