Do you mean in the Open with window below?

If so, do you have "Other Programs" expanded open to see all available apps?

Yeh, expended to see "other apps", not all other, that's why "browse" is there.. & then when another app is selected,
it doesn't show/appear in the window you posted..

Go to Control Panel, Default Programs, "Associate a file type........................" Find the the file extension and click on it. Click on Change Program. A screen similar to the one above will appear. Click on Browse and, depending on whether the program is 32 bit or 64 bit, go to either C:\Program Files or \Program Files(x86). Open the folder for the program you want to use and then select the .exe which opens the program. Click on "Always use this program.............." Then, if you double click on file with the extension you chose or use the Context menu, then the file will open in the desired program or Open With will point to the desired program.

What are you doing when the rundll32.exe problem comes up? Is there a pop-up or something?

I have nothing to do, the app just doesn't appear in the "open with" window after browsing & selecting it,
the fact i indicated the issue comes from rundll32.exe is because i located open with in the task manager,
& requested its location..

I'm really confused by what you're saying regarding rundll32.exe. If you think there's some corruption, I suggest opening a Command Prompt as administrator and then running SFC /scannow. If it finds and fixes anything, reboot and run it again.

Which app are you trying to use to open the video file?

I understand about walking in circles. I am just trying to get clear in my mind what is exactly going on. I don't see the trouble of installing ultimate is worth it since you could probably reinstall Pro and have the same result. However, doing the scan I suggested might fix the problem. I don't understand why you can't tell me the name of the program you want to use or if your taskbar is locked or if you could provide a screenshot. (How's that for incorrect English? LOL)

Disregard my reference to a screenshot. I got it mixed up with another thread I'm involved in.
