I can't add a program to the list of "Open with" programs

Hi,

I have a problem where I can't add a program to the "Open with" list. I need to do that for (1) to open the file and (2) set default program for that type of file.

This is not limited to one file type, it happens with all files.

Can someone help me with this?

Just put a shortcut to the program you want to use into the "Send To Menu":
C:\Users\XXXXXXXXXXXXX\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo

Welcome to Seven Forums.

Yes, there is.

Choose 'Open with...'. First click the V 'down arrow' to the right of 'Other Programs' to see if the one you want is listed there. If it isn't, then click the Browse button. You can then search your entire drive to find any program you may want to use. Once you have opened a file with your chosen program it should from then on appear in the Open With list for files of this type.
