Counter-Strike 1.6 in Windows 7 64bit Mouse issue

Hello,

as the topic title states, I installed Windows 7 64bit and CS 1.6.
So far I got it all working fine (no problems with black screen and no image-tearing problem in-game)... BUT there is this problem with the mouse, namely:
When I play the game, I have a feeling that my mouse reaction on the screen has a small delay... as in if my screen movement has latency over my mouse movement. The latency is very very small, but still frustrating for CS 1.6 (don't ask why, it simply is... ppl who play CS on daily basis will know ;) ). I have tried increasing mouse HZ to 1000, but its still there.

Anyone else with this issue, or maybe a solution of some sort?

Cheers,
Milan

I'm thinking that you have a wireless mouse? Try using a wired mouse and see if that clears up the problem.

Snarks:cool:

Your mouse could be garbage now lol or maybe there are new drivers out there for your mouse. If its not that big of a deal just keep the mouse and learn to use it with the little flaw or toss it and go buy a new mouse dude

Thanks for the replays, but you are all wrong.

I am using wired mouse (hence the 1000Hz on my USB port). I am NOT using drivers for my mouse, because they only make it worse and the delay is with them huge. And my mouse is not garbage, its Microsoft IntelliMouse 3.0. Half of professional gaming community is using it, as have I for 5 years each time I play the same game, hence why I notice such small delays :)

have you tried the launch parameters?

-noforcemparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd

Also try removing "enhance pointer precission" in mouse properties.

It could be one of two things in my thinking. Try disabling visual themes (right click, properties, compatibility). that way aero will be disabled whenever you start 1.6.

the other thing that might be causing an issue is wireless networking in the house. If your network runs on the same frequency as your mouse, it could cause data collision and cause your mouse to well...lag because its waiting on the traffic to stop so it can send its packets. Try changing your channel on your router from 6 to something else. Cordless phones can also cause this problem...

Thanks all for the help. I deleted windows 7 and installed 32bit version instead from AIO DVD. Now all works well.

I am a Mac user and am using Snow Leopard, which is 64bit system. On a mac, I can run all my 32bit programs, but that does not seem to be the case on windows platform. I tried to install 32bit DevilMayCry4 game, and it didn't work. Therefore I reinstalled the OS completely in 32bit mode and now all games work fine. :)

Thanks for the help.
