Hello there, im a new one here. I've read all topics related to this problem here on SevenForums but none of those has answered to my problem.

I've got a new laptop Asus N61VG-JX086V and Counter-Strike 1.6 and Source (all Steam). I tried to run Source version and it goes perfectly. However, when i try to play 1.6 version it works but just on 27-30 fps! i tried to download reforce, i set Vsync off and hl.exe is compatible with XP SP2 and furthemore, i turned off desktop composition. Nothing of these actually works. when i try to play game in "Software" instead of "OpenGL" the ftp is around 100 but its impossible to play in this regime because it s**ks balls

thanks :grouphug:

Have you tried typing "fps_max 101" (without the quotes) in CS 1.6's console? I think that might help with your fps a bit.

This would be a good idea. :)
Tried looking for your specs online, could you post some details here?
Drivers updated etc?

BTW, Welcome to Seven Forums

Thanks for replies.

Slash3r: I'm using my old config where fps is set to 101 so that shouldn't cause this problem.

Lomai: this is my computer configuration:

Intel Core i3 350m, 2,26 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce GT325M 1 GB, memory: 4 GB DDR3 1066 MHz, Win 7 64bit
etc..

And i updated graphic driver just few days ago..

Maybe i found out what causes the problem. I have RivaTuner on both of my computers. I'm not rly sure what does it mean, but my Generic PnP Monitor on my old computer is set up according to its graphic card (nvidia geforce 250gts 1gb). But, however, Rivatuner on my laptop shows that Generic PnP Monitor is Intel Graphics Media Accelerator and the original graphic card is just set up as default monitor.

As i said, im not quite sure what does this mean and if it causes the problem. How can i change these settings please?

It appears that you have multiple drivers installed for your monitor.
What happens when you select, as an example, the NVIDIA GeForce GT 325M \ Default Monitor?
