I had the same thing, that cs source just quitted.

This fixed it for me:

• Right mouse click desktop background

I'm having the same problem as Brank. I start to play the game and it's fine then my ping jumps to like 100 to 200 and it freezes for like 1 sec then it goes again.



HELP!!!!

and gives me the following message: "Available memory less then 128MB!! -860160"
and this is a new computer and i have a lot of free space..

Hi Franky and welcome to Seven Forums, It would be very helpful if you can fill out your system specs so we can help you better.

Most important would be the Graphics card you have and the amount of Graphics memory it has, don't get memory confused with Hard drive space which it sounds like you are doing.

Solution:

change your theme to Windows Classic when you want to play

It worked for me! Just save the theme to your desktop so you can just click the icons to change back and forth when you want to play

just so u know cs:s does support the 1680x1050...when u go into ur setting click the aspect ratio to 16:10 and that resolution will pop up for ya

i found out that css is not compatible with windows 7 its a hit and miss to get it to work

Hello Simen, can you fill out your system specs in your UserCP.
Also is this an upgrade or fresh install?
Was it loaded from steam? did you run a defrag in steam?
Do you have all the latest drivers for you hardware?

Hey man no need to be sorry we all where once noobs on all of this stuff it all just takes time.

I would go around and make sure you have the latest drivers and try again.

CS:S problem

i need help before i do anything stupid with this computer, ok so.. i have windows 7 i had it for a while now i downloaded it from a site and i have activated everything so nothing wrong there, but, when i installed counter-strike 1.6 and counter-strike source my ping is high in game and it laggs sometimes the ping is fine when i right click on servers on deskop there it is like between 70-80 sometimes 60 it depends, i have set all my options corectly but i dunno wots wrong.. compability mode is set on winxp (service pack 3 ) tryed other options but nothings seems to work,

i have nvidia gefore 7600 GS and i turned my vsync off and in CSS game its off..

AMD athlon(tm) 64processor 3500+ 2.20GHz

also bought a new screen
a HP W2216v

so i dunno wot resolution in CSS i should have or anything i cant even get my console when i choose a button in config file..

sum1 pls help me!!

its easy

right click on desktop>screen resolution>advanced settings>monitor> see your refresh rate would be 59, set it to 60, everything will be fine.

okey thanks for the answer but it was a bit too late, haha i uninstalled win7 cus i had sum problems with registration key n everything .. so i took a CD from my GF she had win XP game works now n stuff but i have a problem that the game freeze for like a few seconds then its back to normal.. do u kno how i can fix that? i been mixin alot with my nvidia control panel n i have tryed options in my advanced settings in CSS but nothing works..
any1 have any idea?

Hey guys, i"ve just installed steam on my windows 7 64 bit, as well as Cs:source. The installation processes went totally fine. However, when i start up cs:source, the game automatically closes itself. I've tried to reinstall the game several times, but gt the same results. I've even tried running in compatibility, and switched off UAC. And ideas guys? Thanks for the help!

I just installed windows 7 today together with the famous CSS, I already tried lots of Fora For help but found nothing except for this. Twinraven has exactly the same problem as myself. But I couldn't find any solution to his problem. Any help ?

I installed CSS on Windows 7 last night, and had the problem of it freezing the whole computer once the map had loaded.

I tried a couple of things to fix it, and it works fine now. I was playing for a few hours last night with no crashes at all.

First thing I did was remove cl_resend 2 from my config. This can crash your computer if you set it to 1 or 2 (on Vista, I had no problems running at 2), so I removed the whole thing from the config.

I also disabled SLI, as possibly SLI is still a bit buggy in Windows 7. After changing the config and disabling SLI, the game ran fine.

I haven't turned UAC off, and running hl2.exe for CSS as admin didn't work either, and I'm not running hl2.exe as admin at the moment, and it runs fine. If I did run the game as admin, I also got the "The game is currently unavailable" error.
