Solved CPU fan speed

Installed a Cooler Master Gemin II S524 cpu cooler yesterday.
The speed has been staying from 450 - 470 rpm. / Temp. 22c - 27c
Is there a program to control the fan speed ?

Sorry no idea on fan speed software, but wow that thing is huge! And pretty cool(no pun...well yea it was intended). Looks like the radiator from a small car, heh.

You can adjust some of the fan settings in your Bios usually. There are also options like speedfan. Just remember, the faster the fan speed the louder it gets.

The program may be misreading your RPM. It says max is 37,500. :shock:

Yes, agreed both the cpu and case fan speeds do this when I start the program, did a clear min./max. now looks normal.
So there is no way to increase the cpu speed ?
or is it controlled by a sensor and is increased or decreased by the cpu temp. alone ?

I agree with Britton30 that it is misreading your rpm. Your temps are fine.

Run Intel Burn test on default settings, it will heat up your CPU but keep a careful eye on your temps and fans, the should speed up through the BIOS controls. It may cause a BSOD, but don't worry, it'll restart fine.

Test went well, no BSOD. Even though temp of cpu went up quite a bit the fan rpm did not increase all that much.
The left pic. is after test, notice the max. results.

Everything look good ?

Max temp isn't bad, on my AMDs it will hit 70C. What is the rated fan speed on that cooler? Also what motherboard?

Try a run with with maximum settings, 5 test should do.

MB is Foxconn 2AB1
AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 840T Processor, not the 940 stated in the CPUID specs.

Rated fan speed is 800 - 1800 rpm +/- 10%

Should I go ahead with the test Dude suggested now ?

Well, max setting REALLY heat an AMD CPU, just keep an eye on the temps real close and stop the test if you get to around 66C.

Is this http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c02628244#N98 your computer? I researched the motherboard and it's a HP OEM board. I can't seem to find any manuals on it, I was looking for fan speed settings in the BIOS. If it's possible, turn off Cool'n'Quiet.

Are you talking Tcase or Tj max temp Britton30? Not trying to derail the thread just curious

The test took a long time, but finally failed.
Is this normal or should I run the test again ?
The thing I noticed most was the PSU fan increased in both RPM and noise.
