GPU temperature is traditionally measured in Celsius, and I'm sure he's using SpeedFan to get this information.

You're probably right. Pixelpro, make sure to show your mom's friend or at least tell her/him that you're talking Celsius, not Fahrenheit. Also, I took the liberty of searching around Google for you. It doesn't seem that it's a widespread issue, so it's possibly just your laptop.

Like I said, after my personal experience and reading others', I won't and cannot recommend HP laptops anymore. I would highly recommend Dell though.

Im using speedfan / everest ultimate edition Both tell accurate results. yeah i think they might think in (F) but so far 2 Pages of info to persuade my mum to take it back....

You can also tell a white lie and make up some other issues, or exaggerate it and say the GPU is going to melt soon (whether or not she understands computer terminology). It all comes down to how sophisticated your speech is.

But really, this is an issue and you deserve to have it replaced.

It has blue screened about 2 days ago? could that be realated? I have told her all 3 cores (incl CPU) shouldnt even touch 70 C... I will take it back tomorrow, make sure of that... i am not keeping this laptop; too problomatic.

Idle heat: 69-72C
Heavy load: 80- then rises to around 98-100C inabout 20 mins.

water boils at 100C so your CPU is getting close to that temperature :shock:

90C = 194F!! meat cooks to a safe point at 156F so you could cook "bacon bits" on your cpu

Yes, you had a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). That happens when a part of the computer, either software or hardware stops functioning correctly. If it happens again, don't hesitate to show her. Hell, download a picture of a BSOD and display it full screen and pretend it just happened if you have to. Whatever it takes to get the laptop replaced. These are the culprits. So you have more than one issue on this computer. I'm in the process of looking up exactly what the latter does but the first is a boot kernel it seems. Your laptop has an overheating issue, and I'm not sure if these crashes are related. Decide your course of action. Try and fix these issues, or replace the damn thing altogether?

Well i am pleased to say: My mum has agreed to take it to the shop for a repair/ replacement... as i threatend to show her my list of Sources which show exact cpu heat... if your instrested max for my cpu= 68C mine is going over 32C mORE
Would appreciate the translation of DMp files, so i can show that to them too!

I translated them for you, they're in my last post. The program I use, WhoCrashed will read the dump files and spit out a summary of the issue. Here's the text:

If the person you're taking to is an "expert", they should be able to open the original dump files themselves. Demand to have it returned and buy a Dell or some other brand. Don't bother with repair.
