Here goes.. if anyone can solve this for me, I will be so grateful

I set a password and changed my username on my new Windows 7
- when I logged out - the password doesn't work and what comes up is "username or password is incorrect"
- we tried everything, every variation of the password it could be.

-we downloaded and burned bootable discs on cd and USB (like osphcrack and a few others) - nothing worked
when they did actually work they said there was no password set.

we got into the registry and it said that there was two accounts the one I created and the administrator, but we cannot log onto the administrator account and it won't let us change the password from the registry.

- Is there ANYTHING that I can do further without having to restore to factory settings?

Thanks to anyone that can help

Did you type the password in another language besides the keyboard language? If not, and you did not create a password reset disk, then reinstalling Windows may be the only choice. Keep in mind that your files will still be there after you reinstall Windows.

Before you reinstall, go to our tutorials, search for password. There is a way to recover a lost password. I am not familiar with the method, but I have seen it. Give that a try first.

Thank you for your help, We have already tried everything in the tutorials and none of it works. My computer says there is no password but when we try everything involving that, it still asks for a password.

If we reinstall windows how do I not lose my files if I haven't backed them up? Is there a way?

How about this? Do an upgrade. It is suggested that an upgrade may result in a frankenstein os, but you do not care about that. You may get an account that you will have control again. Save what you need. Then just do a clean install. I truly hope that my idea or one that may come later helps you.

there may be a way. Was your account an administrator or standard user?
(during setup it creates an admin account. did you create another account?)
there is built into win 7 a hidden administrator account.
If we can get you to boot from the dvd and there is an option for "command promt" use it. right click the command window and run as an administrator. Then type this in the command windows
net user /administrator active:yes hit enter
then reboot. there should be an additional log in account that is called administrator with no password. log on using this account.

almost there. goto start>control panel>users> your username>reset the password
done

Hope this helps

When you say the DVD do you mean the bootable disc I've created through osphcrack?

No I mean the original windows seven dvd. osphcrack is a cracker and not supported.

Be careful talking about illegal methods of activation, cracking, hacking, key gens, etc will get you banned
