Hi, I am currently running Outlook PST File Repair on a computer that file errors.

I am past the scanning portion and now repairing.

While in task manager, I inadverdantly clicked "Create Dump File". I cancelled this right away. The process is still listed, however the amount of memory hasn't changed in a half hour nor has the CPU percentage. I know SCANPST.exe takes a long time to run, so I really want to know if I ended the process so I can start over as soon as possible. However I don't want to wait 12 hours just for it to keep doing nothing.

The window seems to be hanging, it says "not responding", but I'm not sure that is relevant.

In case, Windows 7 SP 1 x64

Which process is still listed? Is it the repair tool process or the crash dump process?

Go to the location of your PST and make a copy of it, just in case the process has become corrupted. The original PST should be ok, because the repair tool doesn't touch the original - it makes a recovered copy, if I recall correctly.
