Does anyone have an idea on how to have an open NAT for Xbox Live when you are sharing a wireless connection with a laptop?

Xbox -> ethernet -> laptop -> wireless -> router

Um confused by "open NAT". You have the router specifically for the added security of the network address translation and you want to turn it off? Can you tell us exactly what you want to do?

I think he means stick it in the DMZ... so that the xbox is outside the firewall correct? This can't be done if its hooked into the laptop, it has to be plugged straight into the router. otherwise your laptop will be unprotected too

edit: Well it CAN be done... but that involves just turning off the NAT firewall... and i honestly can't recommend that with a clear conscience

Martin

I realized that but wondered if he wasn't just trying to bridge the wifi, and Ethernet to provide connectivity. If he truly is trying to put the the Xbox in DMZ he is just asking for trouble. Would be like giving direct access to the bad guys.
