Creating a USB system restore?

I have been having numerous problems with my computer and am currently in a dispute with the manufacturer about getting it repaired but in the mean time i would like to create a bootable usb drive for if i need to boot/repair windows if it decides not to work.

the problem I am having and have had it before and have been unable to find a fix is that my system won't boot past the 'windows loading' page. I installed my OS using the same disc as I haveon 3 other systems and they all work fine jus this one has the problem. It has been sent back once and worked for a short time which is why I am disputing it being out of warranty.

Anyway enough of that, all i need to know is how o make sure i can safely turn my computer off and on again and an additional way to boot to make sure it will work?

To put it in a flash drive

Back up the USB flash drive before doing the steps below cause it will wipe the USB Flash Drive

Open Command Prompt with administrator privileges known as Elevated Command Prompt. To do this, click on rb: type cmd in the Search programs and files box and then hit Ctrl + Shift + Enter. Or right-click on CMD under Programs(1) and choose Run as administrator . Type in the commands below .
( Press [ENTER] after every command )

DISKPART
LIST DISK
SELECT DISK #
CLEAN
CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY
SELECT PARTITION 1
ACTIVE
FORMAT FS=NTFS QUICK
ASSIGN
EXIT
EXIT

   Note

# is the number of the USB FLASH Drive . Disk 0 is the first hard drive .
Assign command assigns a drive letter if you want to assign a letter yourself type in this command ASSIGN LETTER=[input letter here ] without the brackets

Copy the contents from the DVD to the USB from Windows Explorer by copying the files off the DVD and pasting the contents to the USB flash drive .

You could use the first link that Golden added to reinstall Windows using a flash Drive with the second link tool or the command prompt commands I supplied . But you will need to open the command prompt with Administrator rights . As I stated above Post # 3

will i be able to do this from the startup repair options? as i fear my PC has dropped into its previous loop of getting stuck at 'starting windows'

Yes you could use Repair Startup to repair the startup if windows . If you get to a loop of startup take a look at the tutorial below

You can not use a USB Pendrive to do a startup Repair, as startup repair will find the MBR on the Pendrive & not the HD.
Therefore will not detect a problem.

Windows Vista or Windows 7 no longer starts, and the Startup Repair tool does not fix the problem

It works fine for me from usb.

The article does not refer to running it from a usb. In the unlikely event you get an issue, just use the commands to do the fix.
