Creative audigy ( no 5.1 sounds )

Hey guy´s I have an creative audigy soundcard and win 7 ultimate x64 has detected it and installed it but I can only hear 2 speakers. when I play a game the 5.1 works but everything else only the 2 front speakers work any help ?
I have no tried any other drivers yet as to I do not know which ones are good or not thank you.

None of them work and I took out my card to write down what card I had if someone asks and now win 7 does not even reconise it anymore

Didn't mean to leave you hangin just poping in and out. This is not a good sign. Their is a ton of information on sound card problems.Try contacting stormy13.Use the search function at top of page, leave him a message he knows a lot about sound card issues. I have a Sound Blaster Audigy SB1394 EAX Advanced HD
Model: SB0090

That is the original Audigy. I have its little brother (Audigy ES, same specs, just no firewaire port or gold plated connectors). Haven't tested it in 7 yet but it worked just fine in Vista using the same driver pack from Daniel_K (in both 32 and 64 bit).

hehe ok I have the original sb live 5.1 too but could not get it to work so I put this in now

you could try the danielk drivers. I have a audigy 2 zs and that using that driver helped me get my 5.1 working properly. You have to user something like driversweeper to completely uninstall your current creative driver though before installing a new driver.

The only problem now is that the sound will die on me randomly after 10+ minutes or so of listening to something to long...

mine worked ok but the volume and bass got reduces with the drivers I got provided

Hello there spy 1 Welcome to SF!

You may have to consider replacing the present card with a newer model at least an Audigy 4 series if not an X-Fi model that sees regular support from Creative. There is a limite number of 7 updates for drivers and the application available for the Audigy 2 series however.

First you have to select the series and correct model to proceed from the page seen at Creative Worldwide Support#

At least one thing can be said for 7 over Vista as far as finding driver support for the Audigy 2 series! 7 so far has seen far more updates available for many things!
