I am running Win 7 RC 7100 x64 and will be installing Win 7 Pro in a couple weeks. I have a Creative X-fi PCI card. It's the OEM card from Ailenware. (got it @ Micro Center for $10) Ailenware's site only has a Vista x64 driver which will not install on Win 7. The driver from MS update is installed and I do have audio, however the Creative control panel will not work. When I try to start it, it says "no compatible device found" and then closes. Everything works great when I use Vista x64 but I can't seem to get it right on 7. I tried downloading the driver in the sticky but when I click download it sends me to another page. Anyone know how I can force the Ailenware driver to install or maybe another link to dl the driver in sticky? Or maybe a way to get the Control panel to recognize the device. I really only want the control panel for loudness equalization. Many of my MP3s have different degrees of loudness. Often, when it shuffles to a new song, the volume goes from decent to ear bleeding level and sometimes drops to barely audible. Any ideas welcome. Thanks.
