Creative Sound Cards.

took my speaker kit back and got a new set, no distortion there but can only get sound through front 2 speakers and not the other 3. works with my older set still when i try that through the realtek on board, but only sub and 2 speakers

ive uninstalled all the drivers from creative and tried with the others, it picks my sound card up, but when i try to get into the media centre for the eax settings and any of that is say it did not find a device supported by this product. mite just get that xonar dx, you got an official link for where you got the driver from as on microsoft compatibility page it says it dont need 1

ive tried all ideas, and i had my speakers working for a few hours on saturday afternoon, then after a restart after installing a programme, they failed to work again... is this just the way things will be until creative bring out an actual windows 7 driver that isnt a beta? or will i have to system reload to the point at which the soundcard worked?

I’m having trouble with installing the x-fi titanium drivers on my windows 7 home premium x64 nl. When I run the installer it says that there is no creative compatible device found. When I use the at disk method and locate to the file wdma_emu.inf, it says (rough translated from Dutch:
“The map doesn’t contain a compatible driver for ‘re device. Check if the driver works on a x64 pc when there is a driver in the map”.

What shoud I do to get my x-fi work. It is a clean win 7 instal.

I have big troubles every time i start an application or i reboot my pc the audio will vanish again :(

I have a clean install of windows so i don't really know, the audio card also make my pc fail the boot today until i've uninstalled it :(

GPU XFX 8600GT 256mb

Installed Windows 7 Home Premium last night. Made my PC a dual boot with Windows XP. Soundblaster XFi Extreme Fidelity works just fine in XP mode and I have both Media Player 5 and Craetive Console working. Installed the latest drivers from Creative download site. I do get sound, but it's via Windows Media Player. No individual speaker control, no sub woofer. If I right click on the windows media player screen I have access to many of the functions Creative Media Console has in XP mode, but no speaker control, no speaker check. I prefer Creative's Media Player to the windows player and I would like to get full audio control back. Anyone have a suggestion?

I loaded Windows 7 in my Dell Dimension 8300 and the integrated card is working.
I cant get the Creative sound card( sound blaster live to work) When I go to Device manager ONLY the integrated sound is listed( soundmax) under Sound,Video, game controllers.
How can I get the Sound blaster live card to work? I have tried everything and read just about as much.
Another possible problem is within device manager the Multimedia audio contoller is marked with a yellow exclamation mark as well the PC input device.

Any suggestions? Appreciated very much.

ULTIMATE2010 about the only thing you cam do with a card that old is to use the driver package linked in #4 in the opening post. There is not and will not ever be an official driver for those cards.

That is in all likelihood your SB Live and the gameport on it (which won't work in 7 either).

P.S. What is the model number of your card (the number stamped on the card, will look like CTxxxx or SBxxx)?

Stormy what about the X-Fi Xtreme Gamer?? I noticed that the Soundblaster X-FI Xtreme Gamer properties are installed only through the CD apps (launched in Vista SP2 compatibility mode) and this is also the only way i can use the apps made by creative.

But the sound is bad.

I can't use anyway 5.1. system and don't know what to do :( help please :(

Not sure what is going on in your case, the Xtreme Gamer isn't that much different spec-wise than the Xtreme Music (biggest differences are half-height vs full height and the XM can do hardware decoding of Dolby and DTS, drivers permitting).

Have you tries cleaning everything out Creative related and uninstalling the card and drivers through Device Manager and starting from scratch? If not give it a go, and then only use the daniel_k pack linked to in the first post. Also shouldn't have to use Compatibility mode to get anything installed.

Not that it helps in your case but mine has always worked fine with that pack; 5.1 where it should be, CMSS3D where the source is stereo only, games working as they should, etc. I was even using this,

SB X-Fi Series / Auzen Forte driver 2.20.0001 - Ho... - Creative Labs

installed over the top with no problems, and have just today installed this one (driver only so far),

SB X-Fi Series AuzenUAA Pack 1.0 (09/30/2009) - Creative Labs

and haven't encountered any issues yet.

Gonna try this, and yes i've cleaned everything more than one time, i'm just trying again, as soon as i'm done i will let you know.

What troubles me is that apparently the install goes well, but when i launched the apps it tells me that there is no device supported from the application... i have all the packs of DK... anyway will give it a try again
