Creative sound blaster audigy card.

I have the above sound card in my computer. But when I put a DVD Audio disc into the disc player it does not recognise it. Also when I try to call up any of the settings it tells me that the audio device supported by this application is not supported. My computer is running Windows 7 profesional 64 bit and plays all other formats but I believe it uses Realtek HD Audio Manager. Are they conflicting or is there anything I can do to get the Audigy sound card functioning correctly?

Hi there,

I don't think it's the Sound card. It might be the codec problem. Or something wrong with the drive. Does it happens to all the DVD audio disk ? Or is it just this specific one ?

Thank you for getting back to me

It will not play any DVD Audio disc. When I try to locate the sound card under system information it does not show. Only Realtek HD audio and USB audio generic shows up.

Sounds like you haven't installed the driver for the card yet. If not #1 here,

http://www.sevenforums.com/sound-audio/21804-creative-sound-cards.html

you can use either the official driver from Creative or go with the modded set. Also if you don't plan on using the onboard Realtek, then I would uninstall anything showing in Programs and features for it and then disable it in the bios.

Thanks for your help. I have the Audigy sound card working on most disc but it must be that some have a different recognition as when I put into the disc player nothing at all happens other than the noise of the unit trying to read the disc.

Go to Control Panel/Hardware and Sound and click on "Sound" than it will show the number of sound cards in the main Playback tab. If the drivers for your sound card is not installed than it will be showing only RealTek High Definition Audio selected and ticked green. Let us know about the exact model of your Audigy Sound Card which can be found on the backside of the card on a white sticker. There are several models on Creative Webiste but not all of them are listed there and sometimes it's hard to find the exact driver for the card due to many OEM models of cards that comes with Branded PC's like IBM, Compaq, HP etc. So if your card is a OEM version than it's driver might be not there on the official website.
