Cursor and page goes crazy

I've done a lot of things but I don't know if it has helped yet because I still had the problem at least until the last detailed scan. I just did a complete scan and have not done any web surfing yet to test it. . AS far as I know no one knows my problem is malware for sure. I've not seen where anyone has had this problem and it was caused by malware. The last comment is unjust because I did follow suggestions as nearly as I could. But we dont know for sure this is malware. We just assume it is malware. Until we know for sure we are just guessing. As long as we are guessing we have a 50/50 chance of being wrong. I did a complete detailed scan from the latest download which replaced the same program previously installed then removed. I am going to test by doing some web surfing' The last complete scan just found some tracking cookies. I don't expect to see any change by removing a few tracking cookies from google.
Have a nice day

What are you scanning with? We don't even know what you've downloaded and installed at this point.

The name of the program you need to be running is "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware." Please verify that this is what you have installed and are scanning with.

FYI, you MUST be careful on the download page to not click on advertisements. I'm fairly certain this is where you are going wrong.

This is the icon for the software we are asking you to run.

As above, it does sound like you have installed the wrong application. Make sure to verify the icon above is the same associated with the application you're scanning with. Also, just to be sure, take a screenshot of the application when it displays the results so we can review it here. (Though, if it is Malwarebytes, there should be a log file available to post here.)

Basic instructions for a screenshot:

On the keyboard, to the right of the F12 key (normally) is a button that will say "Prnt Scrn", "Print Screen" or "Pr Sc". Pressing this will take a snapshot of your current desktop that is saveable with Paint.

Launch Paint either by locating it in your Start Menu (In Accessories) or pushing the Windows key and R at the same time, entering "mspaint" without quotes into the dialog that displays and hit enter/ok.

Once open, ensure it is a new image, and push Ctrl and V together. Your desktop will appear in paint. After that, either click the floppy icon or push Ctrl and S to bring up the save dialog. Navigate to your desktop, choose a name for the file, and change the "Save type as" to JPEG.

Either attach it to your next post, or upload it to ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting and provide us with the link (The Direct one, if available) and we will continue from there.

I am not sure what you mean. I don't think I brought up anything but trying to fix this problem first. What I said was only in answer to someone else. Some apparently think that I was doing other than what was advised. Like using the wrong programs. That may be and now if anyone is interested you can find out. I have gone back in my browsing history and posted a google history in jpg record of what I did. Go to temporaryposts.blogspot.com. I think I did all my web browsing in google chrome. If you go to the above link you can see if those are the programs I was supposed to go to. You can read my actual browsing there. So please take a look. I do appreciate what help I can get. The history is now irrelevant. Should we try and fix your problem?

If so, we need to know if malware is affecting your system. In order to find out, we routinely use this program;

MALWAREBYTES from this link;

http://www.malwarebytes.org/

<http://www.malwarebytes.org/> ( that is the link you are clicking on, when you click on the blue highlighted link above. It should take you to the site of that name. If it does not, then please post again.

The site looks like this;

OK, assuming it works when you click on that link, choose the FREE version of that program, download it, install it, and then get the update.

Once you have the program running and the definitions update installed, run a FULL scan, and when it is finished and has found anything, please post the log here.

If it finds nothing, then we can move on to some other diagnostics for your problem.

Regards....Mike Connor

I'm not at all sure why you want to discuss which is which. Both are free and trustworthy websites.

MajorGeeks displays misleading ads which cause many users to actually download the wrong program. For example, a large download button at the top of the page for an advertised product and a very small one for the item you actually should be downloading. I checked this myself last night and it was still the case. It is one of the lesser offenders in this category, but still worth noting.

All I can see is that you made it to MajorGeeks. I can't tell what you downloaded or scanned with. Posting the scan results would have been much more helpful, rather than going on the defensive. Tends to make me believe we are probably right about what happened.

Bottom line, if you have scanned with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and it says your system is clean, then it is. It looks as though we will be taking your word for that since we can't get direct answers.

If you want further assistance, you will need to remove the chip from your shoulder and be more forthcoming with your responses. Thanks.

Good. Could you describe as exactly as possible the problem you are having with the cursor?

Usually a spinning circle indicates that the system is busy. When you carry out certain operations, especially on some systems, some operations can take a while, and the "spinning circle" indicates that they are ongoing.

If that is the case here, then we can try to speed up your system a little bit, so that this is not such a long wait.

When you say "Has anyone figured out why the cursor changes to a circle then the page moves any direction? ", do you mean you are scrolling the page, or dragging it?

If you do something else like "Hit either mouse key and it stops for a short time", while the system is busy, it may stop the busy signal momentarily, but that only suspends the operation, and you will have to wait longer for it to finish.

Malwarebytes displays a log EVEN IF NOTHING IS FOUND.

That's a good point! I simply assumed he meant the program found nothing and that was why he did not post the log.

I guarantee you he is not running Malwarebytes. If you notice, he has not answered one of my pointed questions in that regard. He skates around the answer every time. In all honesty, I think we're just being strung along at this point.

IMHO, this was a HUGE mistake on Malwarebyte's part. I do understand bandwidth issues, but they have taken what has become an almost "required" tool and made it very difficult to download for novice users. There used to be an "alternate" link that let you download it directly from their site, but it has been removed as far as I can see.

Even when you arrive at the download page (the external one), there is a price listed for the product. It does not indicate that you are downloading the free version. This has really become a bit of a mess.
