Cursor Control

I lose control of the cursor/pointer while typing in word, Facebook chat and all other typing applications. I lost position several times while posting this inquiry.
While typing in Word, Facebook, chat, or any other spot my cursor will jump from it’s current position to the last position the cursor was located, always in the middle of the sentence or off the screen or pulling up a new screen.

Welcome to Seven forums.
The blinking cursor is what you mean, along with the arrow cursor too? My first suggestion would be to unplug and replug both keyboard and mouse and/ or reboot the system.

Secondly you may have a bad mouse or keyboard, try a different one if possible.

You indicated in your System Specs you have a Dell Laptop.

The issue could be related to the Touchpad.

Is there a USB mouse connected?

Missed the laptop part.

Some people unconsciously touch the touch pad with a part of their hand(s) when typing.
