I have a Lenovo Thinkpad X220i running windows 7 professional SP1. The processor is an Intel i3-2310M CPU @ 2.10 GHz. Graphics adapter is an Intel HD Graphics 3000. The WIFI adapter is an Intel WiFi Link 1000 BNG. I have finally been able to isolate the problem to occurring when the screen is on a majority black image. The larger the percentage of the screen being black, the more active the cursor jumping is. Not only does the cursor jump, every time it jumps, it invoks the left click action. I am running a logi tech MX Anywhere 2S mouse using the dongle, which runs independent of the system radio. (I have also verified the logi tech dongle has no effect on the problem.) I have also verified the Bluetooth adapter is not at fault. The same issue is present or absent when the logi tech or Bluetooth items are present or on, or not on or present. I have also verified the problem is present in safe mode. When I disable the WiFi radio the action immediately stops and when I then re enable the WiFi adapter the action starts with in less than two seconds. I am running what Lenovo says are the most current drivers for all items in the system.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this and how to correct it? Background. The machine was shipped with Windows 7 professional. It was converted to Window 10 Pro, which I deleted and went back to Windows 7. I do not remember this as an issue when Window 10 was running. At the same time I changed to Windows 7 I also changed to a Samsung 870 EVO 1TB ATA SSD. Any advice or ideas will be greatly appreciated.
