Hi,

my computer is experiencing a lot of freezes mostly while I'm watching videos and playing games needing hard reboot of my computer but I never get BSOD, beside when I'm using driver verifier.

I have attached the necessary zip file. If there is any other information I can provide, I would be glad to.

Thanks

Hello, FrenchFries I will see if I can help. Your dump files were all using driver verifier. Driver Verifier is designed to make the system BSOD in hopes of catching the faulty driver. These are the results of the last 5 dump files you had.

Code:
Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.

GEARAspiWDM is a CD-ROM Class Filter Driver by Gear Software.
Also comes with iTunes

dtsoftbus01 is the driver for Dameon Tools. Dameon Tools is a very well known and well documented cause of BSODs. I would recommend you uninstall it . For dameon tools, please use this method.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause of BSOD's.

1. Uninstall Daemon Tools.
2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
- Double click the executable to open it
- Click the button shown below

If the button it is grayed out, as shown in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can just close the window.

For the other drivers mentioned, please try to update them to a newer version or uninstall the programs. Razor software is known to cause some people a lot of problems. I would try to update the driver and if you still have problems, uninstall the program as a test to see if that is the cause of your problems. As far as the ndisrd driver, I don't know which program you have installed, but it is obviously causing issues. The same for it. Try to update the drivers for the program or uninstall it.

Try those and see if you notice any improvement.

I've already uninstalled daemon tools and driver verifier don't show dtsoftbus01.sys being faulty anymore, then I updated gearaspiwdm.sys driver and it seem to be fine now. Also for my razor drivers, I kind of ignored that because I had issue with freezes a long time before I got my razor keyboard. Now with ndisrd.sys I don't know what programs is using that driver, I thought it was a windows driver. Do mionet and winpkfilter are programs you suggest me to get ? because I've looked at them already and they are not so cheap.. Beside that I don't know how can I keep investigating on this driver. Thanks

When you uninstalled Dameon Tools, did you use the stand alone Installer? If not, you need to do that to get rid of the leftovers. As far as the ndisrd.sys, we may have to search a little for that, but do you happen to have a Western Digital My Book Live, My Book World Edition and WD ShareSpace ? I believe they use that to share music and other entertainment across a network to other computers. Look in Control Panel > A Uninstall a program and see if you have anything with the name Mionet in it.

I didn't know I could install SPTD standalone installer without daemon tools lite so I got both , then proceed with SPTD as you mentioned above. Should I get rid of daemon tools lite now ? Then I didn't find any of the programs you asked me to look at neither mionet. But I could find a folder named Winpkfilter which contain ndisrd.sys into it.

The standalone installer is somewhat of a misnomer. When you run it, you have the option to install or uninstall it. You want to uninstall it. If there is no SCSI Pass through (SPTD) the uninstall button is greyed out. If that is the case it means it is gone, which is what we want. Just close the program. If it is not grayed out, use it to uninstall the SPTD. I hope that makes sense.

I have asked for some help in finding out exactly which program that driver is associated with. I have been searching for quite a while and apparently there are quite a few. So, just bear with me and I will see. If you would, would you go to uninstall programs in Control Panel and post a screenshot of all the programs you have installed. It may take more than 1 screenshot to get them all and that is OK. This will tell you how to upload the screenshot here. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/9733-screenshots-files-upload-post-seven-forums.html If you have any problems, just let me know.

Yes, get rid of Dameon tools, and run the UNINSTALLER again. If you didn't understand what I said above, just let me know.

We suspect it belongs to one of these programs

Start Menu\Programs\RealNetworks
Start Menu\Programs\TeamSpeak 3 Client
Start Menu\Programs\Open Broadcaster Software

I am reluctant to say uninstall it. But, why not go to C:Windows. System32/Drivers and rename the driver from ndisrd.sys to ndisrd.sys.OLD. Then see what does not work right. It will most likely be one of the programs above. The renaming will just stop Windows from loading that driver. Whatever program it is associated with will not work right. In the event of any issues, you can always rename it back to what it was.

I got rid of daemon tools and the sptd uninstall feature is grayed. As I see you named the potential programs that are using ndisrd.sys driver, do you want me to link the screenshots still? and for theses programs they seems to work fine after I renamed ndisrd.sys.OLD. Should I run driver verifier again and see what it does?

Try using the computer as normal until you see the problem still exists or what program does not work right. If you still are having the problems, we will try Verifier again. Is that OK with you? I just want to see if what you have done has solved the problem and which program does not work right.

I had no more freezes yet but crashes while playing games.Every time I am starting my Pc, there is Network IControl ( a program installed by default with my asus motherboard ) asking to update and saying that ndisrd.sys driver is missing. It seem to be a driver related to every sounds I have on games, videos ... which wouldn't be surprising since every time I'm watching a video or playing a game if I plug or unplug my headset videos will freeze having me to refresh the page or games will just get no more sounds. Also, streams I'm watching and videos will tend to *buffering* every few seconds with a little noise sometime. Beside that I've been using driver verifier for the past 2 days and it's been working fine.

CPUz is a good program and has never caused any problems I am aware of. It can give you a lot of information about your computer. The AI Suite has given many people problems before. I had in on one of my other boards, but not on this one.

Do you know about ASUS Webstorage sync agent and ASUS boot setting? Also, do you think I should try and reinstall Realtek Ethernet Controller Driver and Realtek High Definition Audio Driver or maybe look for updates on theses, I'm almost sure that's where crashes are coming from, I'm still getting bugs about my sounds.
