Solved custom stationery outlook 2010 Windows 7 Ultimate

How do I get to the directory to upload a custom template to use in Outlook 2010 with Windows 7 Ultimate.


.....\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Stationery

the files in this folder are NOT the same files that appear when I go into outlook and look at the change stationery function.

Where and how do I find the directory that has the templates so I can add my own.

Stationery and themes are a set of unified design elements and color schemes. They specify fonts, bullets, background color, horizontal lines, images, and other design elements that you want to include in outgoing email messages.
Microsoft Outlook 2010 includes a large selection of stationery. You also can design your own custom stationery. For example, you can include a company logo or design that matches your organization’s style guidelines.
To create custom stationery, do the following:

1. Create a new message.

You can discard the message after these steps are complete.

1. Customize the message with fonts, bullets, a background color, horizontal lines, images, and other design elements that you want to include.
2. In the message window, click the File tab.
3. Click Save As.
4. In the Save As dialog box address bar, enter %appdata%\microsoft\stationery, and then press Enter.

The Stationery folder opens.

1. In the File name box, enter a name for your new stationery.
2. In the Save as type list, click HTML.
3. Click Save.

Thankyou, that is one way to create a template, however, I would like to be able to add a full HTML template to the folder, not just one created from an email. Is there a way to do this in Windows 7 that is comparable to XP?

Thankyou! I found the directory but NOW YET ANOTHER PROBLEM WITH WINDOWS 7... never ending... my system tells me I am NOT AN ADMINISTRATOR!!!! I am the only one who uses the computer and i have a log in set up but I have full administrator rights...... can someone PLEASE help me get to the end of this nightmare! Thankyou

Windows 7 Ultimate Administrator Access

I have tried to follow the (garbled) instructions but to no avail. I have WASTED HOURS trying to something as simple as setting up a custom template for outlook.

This is ridiculously complicated.

Sorry, just noticed that you are running Windows 7 Home, which unfortunately does not include the built in administrator account.
