Soz guys this is my first attempt.... but what am I doing wrong

Thanks for trying to help me out Mr Grim, unfortunately they don't seem to work either.
I've attached the psd files, don't know if they will shed some more light on the problem.

OK, I know it's been mentioned in this thread, and I have gone back and forth looking for it, but can't seem to find it.

I downloaded the first file below in .png format, converted it to 32-bit .bmp with Photoshop, and then used Restorator to put it into explorer.exe. Did I miss a step? Because it came out like the screenshot. Really, really bright.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

The .psd files on 2 and 3 have a glass orb over the top of them, which has been added before the .psd file was created. Ifyou can give me the .psd files where the glassorb has been added, i can make it look better.

You must make sure your template is full transparent, thats where you made the mistake.

Again thanks very much for trying to help me out. I originally drew these using CorelDraw then exported them to Photoshop to create the 32 bit bmp files. So I think this is maybe where my problem is but I've re-exported them and saved them again in different formats for you to have a look at.

Does anybody have the default start button from the first betas (about 7030)?
Its normal state was the same as it is now but the clicked (and hover) state was like it is in the attachment (I found it on the Internet, so it's quite small).

Maybe somebody still has a disk image of a beta?

Guys thanks ever so much for your help and assistance. I've figured out what I was doing wrong. It was the alpha channel in Photoshop. But its working now so thanks lads.

what format is ur image in? sounds like ur trying to use a jpeg when it should be a bitmap :huh:

they are bitmaps,but i figured it out,thx anyway.
