For those who might be interested, I have been using a DCR-2650 set up so the computer can go into a low power sleep mode when not in use. Besides loading the latest drivers, I have the computer and the DCR-2650 plugged into a "Belkin Conserve Socket with Energy-Saving Outlet" This turns the power to the DCR-2650 off when the computer goes into a sleep mode.
I have the computer (windows 7) setup to go into sleep mode after 30 minutes. The Windows media center keeps it on as long as it is recording or viewing anything.
It has been setup this way for about two months and so far the DCR-2650 has connected properly every time the computer comes out of sleep mode.
