Solved Default operating system list not found

I played around with a software( paragon portion manager) that installed its own boot loader for my dual boot laptop and after restoring back to its former settings, whenever I go to system properties and click on start up and recovery and then settings under the default operating system ther's nothing being displayed there.

How do I get windows 7 back there cos its not allowing my laptop hibernate..

Please post back a screenshot of your maximized Disk Mgmt drive map with listings, using the Snipping Tool in Start Menu. Tell us what's on each partition.

Do you have a System Restore point from before the changes were originally made?

on the C is where the windows installation is. On the D is the recovery partition for windows vista that was on the computer before I upgraded to windows 7 ultimate. The G drive is an external memory card, while the 196mb partition and the 29.09Gb partitions are where my Linux ( fedora 10) is currently installed.

As for a restore point, yes it was created before the error but after windows showed some errors when booting and I ran check disk the old restore points were removed.

eyekay - I'd move the Active flag back to Win7 partition, if necessary run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times '
to repair the System boot files. Then add Linux back to Dual Boot this way: Dual boot Ubuntu-Win7

my system boots fine normally its just that in systems properties whenever I click on settings I can't see windows 7 there.. I hope marking the windows partitions as active won't cause more problems..

Help!!!! Right now I can't boot into either fedora Linux or windows. I marked the windows partition active and restarted and now my problems have started.. Don't know where to go to..

finally everything works well now... after marking the c drive as active, and I restarted and got the grub command prompt, I simply just inserted my fedora 10 cd and re installed a new boot loader and when I restarted I could now login to both windows 7 and fedora 10.

Also the windows 7 is now highlighted in the advanced system settings, under start up and recover and settings..

I can now say its finally solved and the system now hibernates also.

Why did you just ignore my next step to run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times?

We give clear steps for complicated operations here but count on them being done exactly as stated.

very sorry. I couldn't run start up anyway cos grub kept coming up and also I didn't have the installation dvd at hand as well.

It turns out that it all worked out well after I marked the drive as active and then used the fedora cd to install grub and selected windows and everything worked out just fine.

Wouldn't have done it without your help though.
