Have a Dell Latitude E6410 - If the laptop sits idle for a while (about 10 or so minutes) I get the BSOD. Not sure if it is related to the hibernation or not. Have a few new AC adapters I bought for it, but can't confirm that is the problem. Have read about hibernation causing an issue, but wanted to get the thoughts of the forum based on what the log collector shows. Thank you for all help !! JB

I am attaching a picture of the BSOD as well.

I have an E6410 running Windows 7 Pro x64 with no issues at all.

Have you checked your drivers to ensure current versions?

There are no dump files present.

Follow it: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/174459-dump-files-configure-windows-create-bsod.html

Now wait for another BSOD. When it occurred, search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. See if the crash dump is recorded or not (hopefully it will be recorded). Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Don't run any disc cleanup program before you upload another zip.

The INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR bug check has a value of 0x000000A0. This bug check indicates that the power policy manager experienced a fatal error.

Just noticed that you are at A01 BIOS. There are newer versions up to A16. I am at A10. Might review the BIOS updates to find what they fixed.

Are you familiar with a tool called Rufus that creates bootable USB drives?

Even I'm still a little touchy when it comes to updating the BIOS... because one wrong move and you have yourself a nice paperweight, depending on your motherboard... I think mine has the ability to hold two, one is usually for backup.

I purchased my E6410 from Dell auction and it was at A01.
I updated twice but Chris is correct.
If you have any problem, and is does not complete successfully, you have a dead laptop.

Search for rufus bootable usb. Will point to sight rufus.akeo.ie. Download version 2.0. Free download.

Does not install just runs as a portable app.

Insert your usb drive and then run. Start looks like this>

The freedos is already selected. just run start and you have a bootable DOS usb. Find the BIOS updates on Dell site and download. Copy to usb and then boot the laptop from usb. Execute the BIOS file and it will step you thru update.

I had to update to A09 first. Wouldn't allow me to go directly to A10.

Fortunately, my motherboard came new with the latest BIOS version, which made me relieved, because the previous version didn't support my current CPU's series.

However, if you follow everything correctly as oneextraid has explained, all should go well. :)

Here's a link and it should allow you to get updates for your specific system:

Before updating BIOS, I would make sure that your other drivers are current.

I do not have the nvidia video so start there by making sure you have newest driver.
