Solved Dell PC Support

I think Dell removed my pc from support this week because now when i try to access my service tag, it will show a OptiFlex instead of my Vostro 400. When I try to access a older version of the website, it won't even show the specs. I guess it is finally complete end of life for my pc. Good thing I am going to get a new pc this year though.
I guess this means that support for Dell pcs last about 5-6 years. At least they still provide the manuals.

so far they have not, I have gotten manuals and specs from computers that were 7 years old

Does anyone know how to download the manuel on a Kindle Fire because if i try to download on mine, it loads infinity.

I think you need to download it on a pc or if on the kindle you can pick it up if the kindle can open a pdf file because that is what the manual is on. I am on my ipad typing this and i can pull it thru my browser.

I believe they won't be removed and would be available to download for you. As I have seen manuals for drivers available for systems more than 15 years old as well.

So I believe you should not be worried about the drivers manual link for your system to be removed from our site.

Sorry checked this post now. Not sure about the kindle fire but if it doesn't load in the browser then best would be to download it on a system and then mail the pdf file to your account.

Usually, Service Tag ID's are not reused and are still available. My old Dimension E510's service tag is still in the system. The Dimension E510 was purchased in the Windows XP days. Over the last 10 years I've only seen one other post on the Dell forums about a duplicate or reused service tag ID.
