Dell Service Tag Utility

Changed a motherboard on a desktop, while in BIOS, I was not allowed to change the Service tag.

The Cx's Driver & Utility Disk was unreadable by the system.

Does anyone know if there is a downloadable program, I can put a flash drive to make part of my tech tool bag?

Is it the same motherboard?

The driver and utility discs are only good as beverage coasters, anyway. You can get any of the drivers you need from Dell.

Several years ago I replaced the CMOS battery in my Dim 4550 and the Service Tag was missing. I downloaded the Asset Utility and was able to reenter the service tag in the BIOS. It worked for me. Third post down in the link.
