How did you build the Win 10 USB installation drive?

Did you try to launch boot menu during POST?

Normally on Asus is F8.
Start the computer and press F8. It will open boot menu options where you can choose the usb drive.

it turned out that my usb mediacreation drive was corrupt,so i had to downlad it again and this time bios accepted it , BUT, then i ran into another problem. first it doesn't ask me about formatting and second, it asks me if i want to update a previous version. I do have win 7 disk disconnected. Now i can't recall what the other option was ,i shut it down. i'm writing this on my acer notebook, and have no way of knowing if your responding cause TBird is screwed up on this notebook, but that is a later problem. i hate pulling out the power on and off the win 7 disk until i finally get this done.

- On a clean install you don't need to format. You NEED to delete all partitions on the disk

- When it ask if you want to Upgrade or Custom select custom.

Denied formatting my partitions

Wow....that tutorial u sent me has a lot to behold. How can i remember everything it says, when its on my win 7 system and that being disconnected. I was perfectly satisfied with the updated versions, even if i do have a Product key number. Isn't there a way that i can just pretend that i am taking advantage of a free Win 10 update like when i first got notice of it a year or so ago? In the meantime while reading this post, I tried to format D and I got as far as being told that it cannot be done cause its in use. How can it be in use other than showing it in Disk management. It said i could do a Force format, but it might corrupt the partition and do not want to do that again. Do I have to unplug win 7 dsk in order to have free format with no problems? Can I format through command prompt instead? BTW, thanks for your patience.

Once again, to install Win 10 on disk 0 you don't format a partition, you delete all partitions on the disk

To install win 10 on disk 0 (E: and G
- Shut down and detach (power or SATA cable of) disk 1 (that has now Win 7 and 10) - VERY IMPORTANT
- Boot from the Win 10 installation USB drive, go to install, custom and delete ALL partitions on disk 0 till you have one and only one unallocated space then proceed. If you don't want to use MS account, don't enable updates or connect to the internet during installation.

Once win 10 is installed and working on disk 0, shut down and detach disk 0 (power or SATA cable of) of new win 10 and attach disk 1.
See if you can boot Win 7 on disk 1

another snag...after deleting partitions,it told me that i cannot install windows on this disk....check Bios for Disc controller. I couldn't find any thing about that area and i search each tabs of the bios...i do see that i enabled all usb connections.

Sorry to hear that...but gmail is screwing up some of my replies, which were later than the one your replying to now. i don't like to show repeats, but since the one your replying to, i have gotten further which i explained, so in the event you don't see it, i'll repeat here now. I got as far as having finishing the first opt by installing the win 10 files for about 10 minutes or so, it rebooted,and i thought that being normal, but the media tool started all over again, which i thought odd, so i shut it down to see if i get a response about it. Now, like u said 'you can't help me anymore,which i understand, but then i can't mark this thread as solved. BTW, are you the only moderator for this thread? Plus maybe the reason the tool repeated itself was because after that first reboot,it was still plugged in. Windows perhaps should have warned me to remove it
