desktop icon too big

i just installed fresh windw 7 ultimte on my xp..the prob now is when i set screen resolution up to 1280x800 ,my desktop icon still appear too big. its not happen on my xp bfore.with tht resolution my xp screen disply bcame quiet nice,i use the same grphd crd,same monitor,but why in my wndw 7 it appear too big?how to resolve this?
use nvidia geforce4 mx440

oh yeah.u rock,,thnks alot.i really dunt imgine that the solution it just easy like that..thnks u :) but another problem is when i set to 1280x800 when i try to view pic,it look like the picture bcome "long" dont know to describe it,but just imgne tht u see ur face bcome long..how to solve it?

It's probably because you resolution in not the same aspect ratio as the picture and it's being squashed up for some reason.
