desktop icons not visible on reboot

dark screen but I know they are there. did factory restore and it worked until I restored windows updates then the problem returned. problem started with a recent auto update for windows. aAny one with similar problem or resolution? thanks.

Hello and welcome jojo mate make sure you set the updates (before you do another system restore as in my pic) then you can pick the ones you want to download and even hide them by right clicking on it and hit Hide.

You might just be able to detect the culprit that way too. If it isn't really important just Hide it.
