Desktop Shortcut Problems
When I have added a few new programs under my user (admin) and allowed shortcut to be added to my desktop I find that they are also added to another users desktop. If I try to delete their shortcut icon on their desktop it messes up my shortcut as well as messing up the program. This does not always occur.
Thanks in advance as I have no idea why this happens.
Welcome to the forum,
Some programs automatically install with access to all users, others will ask if you want to install for all users or just you.
Since you are on Home Premium, you don't have access to AppLocker or Group Policy Editor which would give you more
control of which programs other users can access. You might want to look at setting up Parental controls to block programs.

Hello Bob, and welcome to Seven Forums.
Windows 7 has two Desktop locations. One for the current user, and one shared by all users.
Sometimes a program may have the option to allow it's shortcuts to be placed for the single current user or all users when installed.
In your case, you can move these shortcuts from the all users location to your current user desktop location instead.
Hidden all users location:
C:\Users\Public\Public Desktop
Current user location (your user folder):
C:\Users\(user-name)\Desktop
Hope this helps,
Shawn
