Just had a PSU die on my PC and will take a minimum of 1 week to get an OEM preplacement. It's from an HP Slimline s3700y. So I've got the PC torn apart readying for a new PSU, BUT I'VE GOT TO GET THAT DATA OFF OF THERE NO LATER THAN TOMORROW AT COB. Is there a program and cables I can buy STAT to power up the unattached HD and transfer its contents to the laptop I'm now using? All I really need are some critical Documents Folders off of that drive.
Time is critical and 'm' desperate. Thanks for any help.

You need a SATA to USB adapter or enclosure. You may be able to buy one locally if the stores are still open in your area.

You can buy an external case for a 3.5" SATA drive - that will allow you to connect it via USB to your laptop and copy files from it.

Yes, even easier to find than what I posted; an enclosure would be available at Office Depot or similar, maybe even a Walmart.
