If you wanted to go back or Forward in Firefox (im on 7) when brousing but wanted too keep the page your on, Click the middle mouse on BACK/FORWARD and it will be in another TAB with the rest of the Forward or backwards that you had there.

Crazy.

Works with Home too, If you want your home in another TAB MIDDLE mousie it. Vwallla, No more Clicking Tab then Home.

If you don't have a middle button youu can try Left+Right at the same time - that is often a replacement for middle button

As for Middle button shortcuts there are many ....

Chrome

Middle button on Tab - Close Tab
Middle button on back button - Duplicate tab

Windows Taskbar

Middle button on tile or running program - start new instance of the program

*chuckles* it's not a big deal. I do have a desktop PC too, ya know I have a mouse for my laptop too, but it's so much easier using the touchpad when you're in bed with the lappie doing some late-night browsing. I don't mind the lack of a middle button at all. (But thanks for the tips above!)
