Hi people.

This is my first post on this site and I am new to the world of Windows 7 after upgrading from xp on Sunday.

I have scoured this forum and the net in search of an answer to my problem, but non seem to match it correctly.

Before I upgraded I had sound coming down my coaxial line from my onboard sound to my cinema amp. I also had a backup analogue cable going from the front speaker connector to an analogue connector on the back of the cinema amp. The analogue line has always been poor in terms of volume. I usually have to turn the volume to max to even hear it properly. The coaxial delivered perfect sound.

After the upgrade, I downloaded the new realtek software from the asus website for my motherboard. The old analogue line works but has the same sound issue but the coaxial line doesnt seem to have any sound coming down it at all. The realtek program detects the line is plugged in, but no sound is being sent down it.

Help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Dale.

dirtyden1000, welcome to the forums.

If you haven't check in the Windows Playback properties, and make sure it is set to SPDIF/digital out. Also you can only use one audio output at a time in 7/Vista.

Thanks for the reply.

Thats exactly what it was. As soon as I removed the analogue line the coaxial one worked perfectly.

Thanks for your help.
