Disable DVD drive icon

Hello,
I set a custom icon for my optical hard drive within Windows (using the registry drive folders), but this icon is replaced whenever there is an actual optical media inside the drive. I want to override this behavior and force the system to always show my custom icon, it looks nicer. I know this is caused by the CD containing an autorun.inf file telling Windows to display such and such icon but surely there must be a way to disable this?

Disabling Autoplay did not do the trick, it does remove the "what do you want to do" popup when inserting a drive but does not prevent the icon from coming up.

Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks for your help.
