Hello Everybody

I'm new in the forums :)
Im having a big problem right here: I use AMD ATI Mobility HD5400 series, I use a certain kind of flight simulators, I know people who has WORSE Video card and processor than me who get more FPS with same options. Some people told me that the solution is to Disable the 3d accelration by typing dxdiag in the search or by going to DISPLAY settings then choosing ADVANCED settings the the TROUBLESHOOT bar.
The problem is I cant Disable the 3d acc from DXDIAG. While in the Display advanced settings in the troubleshoot bar the "CHANGE SETTINGS" button isnt working its Shaded or something, I guess the computer doesnt allow me to do that, PS: Im an adminstrator on the computer
Any help would be appreciated, THANKS!
;)

none of this information makes a lot of sense to me to be perfectly honest.
Software 3d rendering is not going to be faster than hardware 3d rendering.

How about a few other things first.
Have you tweaked the settings in the flight sim itself? (that graphics chip is not going to max a modern flight sim)
Is the laptop getting enough air? (heat can actually hurt performance and you aren't exactly in the coldest part of the world to start with)

Are you certain you have the latest version of the CCC (graphics driver) installed?
AMD Catalyst
note the bottom of the page first, that specific driver is not compatible with all laptops.

Also I see you have 32 bit windows and not 64bit, this is actually something that can make a difference in simulators as well. You have not been specific as to which one you are dealing with though.

Just to be clear though my system can't handle the latest MS flight simulator maxed without hiccuping here and there.

Just to give you an idea how your graphics rank against mine

...and I'm saying even mine isn't going to max it properly. It's really a multicard top shelf thing to hold all the physics and texture data. Also note that the mobility series of the gpu's are generally just a little bit slower than stand alone units in desktops.

I have the same problem with my desktop machine. I wanted to disable video acceleration in order to run my old screen capture software. Research told me that Windows 7 and my AMD/ATI video driver package simply does not allow disabling of video acceleration, hence the greyed out option.

My solution was to get a new screen capture software.
