Disabling headphone Jack Detection

Well thelma,

I do believe that to every problem there is a fix. I think I've just found yours about the BIOS password though this might depend on how techy you are.

I found this article or support document on the Dell website: How to Perform a BIOS or CMOS Reset and/or Clear the NVRAM on your Dell System | Dell US

I'm not gonna say that it will work but I do think it is a smart thing to perform.

PS for me at least I couldn't open the link in FireFox.

Cheers
Boris :)

Hello Boris :), I

I just found your answer ( three days late ). It had for some reason not come through in my e-mails.

Now that my CBS Logs are clear, I can re-concentrate on this everlasting sound problem and found this very interesting info from you. Thanks for that, I will study it in detail. :geek:. Looks quite daunting, hope I can manage.

Been through the whole length of the " Realtek disabled jack detection " yesterday and found out that Windows Seven is very good, but the weak point is the sound and audio section.
There are so many possible failures or wrong settings it's mindblowing.

From the BIOS through to the register ( pins ) on one side and from the drivers to the jack's, speakers, endpoints, connections, collectors the list is endless.

I'm gonna have a look now, thanks again.
Cheers Thelma

Disabling headphone Jack detection

Well Boris :),

I have really gone through your suggestion, again thanks for finding, but I run dead on F2 because of the password and the opening and detaching the pins is too complicated for me, also because it's a laptop.

I have been to The leading OS for PC, tablet, phone and cloud | Ubuntu as Oscer suggested, but I cannot find my way there so back to square one.

I don't want to fiddle with these pin nrs. jet ( in the register ) so I am going to look at some Y-tube video's about the issue.

Keep you informed :)

Disabling headphone Jack detection

Ok Anak and Boris :), thanks booth for still following me in this struggle,

I have just un-installed all 4 audio drivers and rebooted, they are all reinstalled as you can see on this screenshot. driver software installation Untitled.jpg

When these were downloaded and reinstalled, there is a possibility to stop the process.
There is a sentence " windows update is searching for drivers, do you want to stop the process ?

I can do that before Microsoft finds back the usual same old drivers from way back 2010.
But then I have to find these 4 drivers myself.
I can do that( I think), by going to DELL service detect, they will recognise my Laptop and propose new drivers, am I thinking right here ?:geek:

I am closing this thread and will open a new one under Audiodg.exe or Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation process.

This, because I have concluded that the problem is not related to the audio Jack but to something else.

Ok. But would like to know how you concluded not a problem with the jack itself.

Hello Oscer :), I understand you're query,

Because ( see new thread ) I found that something else related to the sound problem went wrong exactly around the date my sound from my internal speakers packed it in.
