Hi Nenad2,

Welcome to SevenForums.

Given the situation, where the hard disk activity was interrupted suddenly by power outages/resumptions the following two scenarios are possible.

1. MBR of the hard drive/Partition table - one or both- got corrupted. Hard drive itself is healthy.

2. Due to sudden power interruptions/restoration and perhaps transients associated with it, your HDD had undergone a physical damage either in its electronics or mechanical fittings. A very difficult situation.

No.1 is more likely and so I would go with an attempt to recover the partitions/repair MBR running the Partition Recovery Wizard in MiniTools Partition Wizard from a bootable CD/pendrive.

If that fails, I would try the possibility of recovering whatever data I can, running a bootable live Linux CD/pendrive.

I am out for a conference for the next three hours and a call from my wife, and so hang on and check what others say and decide what you want to do.

If this is the only HD on your system then I have nothing to add, however if you have more than one HD check to ensure your BIOS has not become corrupt and the computer is trying to boot from the wrong drive.

Good suggestion from roy69. To add to it even if you do not have two hard drives, check and let us know whether the system drive is recognised in the BIOS.

Also check whether you are able to boot your computer from any other bootable optical media/pendrive.

You can use the Windows 7 installation media if you have.

More details about your computer should also help.

Desktop or laptop, manufacturer,

Manufacturer/model of your hard drive.
