Disk Cleanup not removing system update files/SFC can't fix problems

Disk Cleanup claims it can remove about 9.5 GB of old system update files, but upon running it, nothing happens (and I don't free up any space).

This may or may not be related, but I ran SFC and it found problems it couldn't fix. I've attached the logs.

Did you run Disc Clean up as Administrator. Right click on Disc Clean up & select run as Administrator. When it opens make sure there are Ticks in all the boxes you wish to clean up.

Some things that Disk Cleanup finds needs a reboot to complete the clean.

I've been running the Disk Cleanup as an admin, and that hasn't been working. Incidentally, I don't get a prompt to restart the computer and restarting manually doesn't do anything special.

Layback Bear, running the cleanup that way got me 4 GB of space but Disk Cleanup still says it can get rid of 5.5 GB of old update files. Should I just ignore that?

It's hard to believe after running Disk Clean Extended that their are 5.5 GB of old updates left.
Look and see if it is MB instead of GB.

Things that I have noticed but have no charts, graphs or Googles to prove it.

Disk Clean Extended will not request a reboot.

When you reboot you will notice it takes longer while somethings are being removed. It all depends on what is being removed.

Once booted to desktop do nothing and just watch the hard drive light after the cleanup. Many time you will notice for a minute or two it will be very active. To me that indicates Window 7 is doing something it normally doesn't do on a reboot.

I would just run the cleanup again and reboot and then check to see the results.
If the cleanup doesn't remove them, just leave them alone.
Windows 7 will not hurt Windows 7. Windows 7 tries is very best to protect itself.

Be advised: Make sure that the items to be remove have a check mark beside them.

I use Disk Clean Extended every day in conjunction with Ccleaner with no problems.
Do not use the registry cleaner in Ccleaner unless you know what you are doing.
I trust no registry cleaner. I have to investigate what it finds before taking action if any.
99% of the time their is no need to mess with the registry.

These are just thing that I have noticed using Disk Clean Extended and Ccleaner on my systems.
