Hello to all...

I have a laptop with window7(32bit) with a 500gb HDD that is partition into to 235gb (C: ) where the system files are at and 210gb where my other files go to. I want to reduce my C: to 130gb and add it my other drive but the window7 default disk management wont allow me reduce it(C: ) anymore. So I download a third-party program that allowed me to do so.

My question is:

1.) Is it ok if I do that? Will there be any problem to may HDD or Is bad for my computer?

2.) Can I reduce it any further say 100gb or below? And what is the minimum disk requirement space for (C: )?

No, as long as you are using a good program to make the change there is only a small chance of anything going wrong. It is not bad for the computer. You do not want to make the OS partition too small - so that it fills up to capacity too soon. But a 50GB or 80GB partition is not uncommon.

I have done this on several drives without issue using the free Partition Wizard bootable CD from MiniTool. Lots of folks here at the forum use it.

Partition Wizard Bootable CD allows user to boot computer directly to manage partition.

One caution to anyone who is going to change the partitioning on their hard disk. Make a good image backup and just to be safe. Copy all of your critical data to an external USB device.
This could save you from crying at some point in all the re-partitioning saga..
