Solved Diskbootfailure - when trying to reinstall 7

As the title says. 250hdd set to new volume cannot get the cd to load. Bios tried both 1st boot as cd and hdd both yuk. Out of practice with this.

If you can, post a screenshot of the Disk Management please => Click Start => right-click Computer => click Manage => click Disk Management.

As I understand it, he's saying that the CD with the Win 7 installer won't boot so that he can install Win 7 on the HDD.

Is this an original installation disc?

Hi AaLF,

If you have got another computer that you can use you can download a Win 7 Pro SP1 x64 ISO and burn it to a DVD/USB and try using that.

Hi Paul. The cdrive only boots to the black 'code' screen where it does whatever down to load CD

disk faiure.


It does not get as far as loading win7.


I've created a new HDD cdrive now so i'll close thread.

Two thoughts-

If your system is UEFI, you could try temporarily disabling Securboot in the BIOS.

You could also try to change the BIOS to Legacy rather than ACHI (if that's what it's set to).
