kie so im getting what's probably the most common problem here... teh infamous nvlddmkm bsod

This usually happens when i play a graphically intense game like assassins creed 2 or splinter cell conviction.... it would crash after 5 mins of playing... i would then go into safe mode uninstall the drivers and remove any other nvidia files i could find and then go back to normal mode and reinstall the drivers... restart and then play... adn it would be ok but if i quit the game and maybe play the next day (after a shut down and start) it would do the same thing again meaning id have to do the whole safemode uninstall normal mode reinstall stuff all over again... its frustrating and kinda depressing...

attached is the info. see if theres anythign else that its reporting other than the display crash

I hope you guys can give me somekinda insight into this

I dont know what else to say in this post so please ask me what other info u need thanks

Your .dmp file is showing a STOP 0x116: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR with nvlddmkm.sys as the probable cause.. use Driver Sweeper to completely remove your Nvidia drivers, then reinstall... Read this for more suggestions in dealing with this error... STOP 0x116: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR troubleshooting

Try removing any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: DuplexSecure - Downloads

You have to run the setup program to uninstall it. There should be an Uninstall button on one of the screens (I think it may be the first one you see).

ahh yeah i saw it and came back here to say not to bother...cuz i saw the uninstall option adn i feel silly lol

kie so update on my problem... about the time i made my first post my pc completely stopped... in the sense i cud boot in safe but not in normal mode... so i did a clean install again of windows 7 ultimate 64... i didnt install daemon again and now used the stpd thing to see if there was a need to uninstall... i played assassins creed 2 again and its been perfect... i finished the game and uninstalled it... installed star wars force unleashed and viola...crash again... i dont get it... im really worried if this is a graphics card related issue...

Could be, what PSU are you using?

Test temps: SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer

Remove your current video drivers, then install these ones: NVIDIA DRIVERS 258.96 WHQL

im using an nvidia... um... my temp is running at 84C now jeez... can that be right??? after the last fur test i had artifacts about 2 seconds in the test and everything froze... hit the reset button and windows loaded with all the colors off and artifacts all over so i uninstalled the drivers again... but right now i checked the temp adn its 86C what the hell!!!

my cores are averaging around 45C each tho

i took off the side of the case my card is so hot i can hardly put my finger on it... can it be the fan in the case of the card??? how to i open up the case so that i can clean the dust

kise so i had reinstalled my drivers and kept my system switched off fer half an hour... the gpu is at 59C now and holding...... speedfan is still showing that as hot tho... adn the temp is climbing steadily too... im pretty sure itll hit the high 80's again groan

u know i have a feeling ti could be dust buildup.... ive regularly cleaned the other parts of my system but ive never done my card... its an xfx 9800 gtx... so it has that cover over the whole board with the fan in view... get it??? the dust build up on the other parts are phenominal when i get to cleaning them so it could be that... if anyone of u could link me to a good tutorial... preferably on this forum itself that could help me around this... tips on how to keep it cool.. thanks
