Display shuts off, lost signal, widows freezes, tower stays running.

I reinstalled windows from disk and swapped graphic card and issue still persist. I'm now thinking its a bad motherboard.

Hmm seems t is looking that way by the way and to save me some searching did you do a memtest if not

MEMTEST

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.htmlthis one you will need to make a bootable disk set the BIOSto optical (or USB if preferred) boot the machine and let it run for at LEAST 8 passesunless the errors come up straight away. Takes a fair time to completeand some leave it running overnight.

If you do get errors and have morethan one stick then you will need to test each one separately and maybe even inthe separate slots.

If you do get errors and have morethan one stick then you will need to test each one separately and maybe even inthe separate slots.

IE slots 1 2 3 4 sticks 1 2 or 1 2 34 if errors come then try stick 1 in slot 1 2 3 4 then stick 2 in slot 1 2 3 4and so forth to track down the bad stick or the bad slot/s.

A very drawn out and tedious processbut it will save you a lot of grief.

A friend said "There really isn't a need for memtest because you have 2 sticks of RAM so just swapping them out you can check for failure."

Well that is right Atem unless you have errors on an all sticks in test no need, but what I was meaning was if there are errors then you have to swap out and try each stick and slot until you nail the culprit - stick (most likely) or the slot (probable).
