My display is set to go to standby (turn off) after 10mins of inactivity. I was able to turn it back on and resume working only by moving my mouse or pressing anything on the keyboard.

Recently though I can only get it back to life by pressing ctrl+alt+del. My settings have not changed, and the settings are not set to lock the account upon resume, but this problem still occurs.

It's a desktop computer running Win7 x64 Professional, graphics card is Ati Radeon 4890.

That's not what I want to do. I want my display to turn off after a while, but I want to be able to turn it back on just by moving the mouse or pressing any key on the keyboard. As it stands now, it does not turn back on unless I press ctrl+alt+del, moving the mouse or pressing anything else on the keyboard still leaves the display off.

Do you have Wake On Keyboard and Wake On Mouse enabled in the BIOS?

erm, as far as I know those options are necessary if you want to wake the computer from sleep or if it's shut down. My situation is none of those things. The computer is running, it's just the display that's off.
