distorted game screens on dell studio laptop

i installed windows 7 home premium 32bit on my mom's dell studio laptop 2yrs old and she is now having issues with playing games, the screen is distorted and it sometimes goes black and locks up and you have to restart it, i also installed it on my own dell inspiron laptop 3yrs with most of the same games and have no problems at all, i checked the resolution and it seems fine, any help would be great, thanks

i updated the specs hoping it might help you out a bit more, i'm having trouble finding the graphics card, i updated the directx
