ditch ff 57, go back to previuos ver?

Hi,

Got screwed by Mozilla, updated to 57.0 without my permission. I want to go back to an earlier ver.

This is the simplest way how I was going to do it:

1) completely remove FF 57 by uninstalling it?

2) use a recent MOZ BU with passwords ONLY.

3) Install earlier version of FF.

4) Import passwords from MOZ BU from #2 above.

Please advise or recommend an easier way. Moz TB & FF tend to be kludgy in their products instructions.

Before you uninstall FF 57, go into the settings and tell it not to check for updates.

Once you have done that, uninstall FF 57, then install FF 56.

It will remember that you told it not to check for updates, and it will stay at 56.

If you don't first tell it not to check for updates, it will always bring you back to 57.

Keep in mind that by doing this, you won't get ANY Firefox updates. In other words, you will be living a bit dangerously.

If you are concerned about the support (and thus Security) issue you can always consider the latest Extended Service release

I appreciate & will heed the info you gave me. Used FF with no problems, FF gave me the options to set it up "my way", and I always ghad the option to download, then install. Not this time, by checking what ver I was using, mozilla just downloaded & installed FF 57. That is intellectually dishonest.

Now I have to critically change the way I do my business. Their forum & marketing talk about speed, new api's & other tech stuff. I'm an experienced business mgr and have been using PC since the Vic 20 & longer if you include setting up, managing 2 Fortune 500 Co. information management projects such as: data mining, appending 3rd party data to find new customers & determine most profitable business area. areas as this was as early as 1972 in suburban Philly.

I've had a chance to use FF57 for a few hours and would like to get your thoughts about posting a short list a few areas that are out of place now. I will even post images to clarify. Do you thing that would work?
