Hey all, I am new to windows 7. I received this computer from a friend in a trade and ran my virus scan and all to make sure it was clean. The only problem I am having is that the computer originally came with windows vista, he upgraded it to 7, and when he did that installed a flight simulator program that required him to delete some .dll files in order to play it. He said the files are for the playing of movies and music, and I am not sure which files are missing. I didn't get a restore disk with it, so I cant restore them that way. Any help would be wonderful...Thanks!

Hello Jyoung, and welcome to Seven Forums.

I would recommend that you ask your friend for the Windows 7 installation disk along with the product key number that he used to install it with since that is part of the computer. This way you would be to use it to reinstall and activate Windows 7 with.

If he doesn't have one, then I would suspect that this may be an illegal copy of Windows 7 on the computer.

The game is an illegal copy, and I would recommend to uninstall it. We cannot help you with that since it is illegal.

I uninstalled the game and cleaned out whatever he had on here. I have had the computer for awhile and never really opened it till recently when my other one crashed. Since then I have stopped speaking to him because he decided to sleep with my girlfriend. So I don't have any of the info on windows 7.

i just logged out and logged back in and got an error message upon startup saying that the "users/d630/appdata/local/uvevoxad.dll" file is missing.

I'm sorry to hear that. Some friend.

There is not a uvevoxad.dll file in Windows 7 by default, and it cannot be found on Google as well.

I would suspect that the Windows 7 is illegal, and would recommend to uninstall it, purchase a legal copy, and do a clean install with it.

is there a way to downgrade back to the original vista without buying a whole setup. I don't have the money for that.
