Dllhost.exe uses an enormous quantity of RAM

Result : "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

I'll probably make a new installation as I think the repair may not solve my problems.

Thank you all.

Uncheck all "Internet Information Services" if it isn't already. It's in "Turn Windows features on or off" in the left panel of "Programs and Features" in the Control Panel. Reboot.

In practice, if you get these types of crashes when browsing folders containing video or media files, the problem is most likely a flaky codec.
But you did say you uninstalled the third party codecs

dllhost.exe is used by any DLL-based app.

You might want to try a different antivirus or disable the one you're using and try openning the folder again.

Ok here is a cap of my task manager with all services & programms disabled in msconfig. And the "diagnostic" startup set. And the antivirus is also disabled.

The "show all processes from all users" is checked as you can see.

So I still have the same problem even in the "diagnostic startup".

Thanks.

So I think we can say that I've tried all that when I used the "diagnostic statup" option.

Yes I think I'll do that to. I was trying to find the answer anyway just to know ... but I'll reinstall for two reasons, this one and the issue on the startmenu.

Thanks anyway. ;)

One last thing, uncheck this for the drive containing the folder if not already.

Not really, because I'll have to reinstall everything then. And since I didn't format my computer since a very long time I have many things installed on it. Games etc etc ... so it will take one day or two to have everything back.
+ I want to know why I have this problem, I can't format each time I have the same problem ;)

But you still haven't and may never figure it out. After reinstall, do the folder "test". Also, do it after installing each program or change made to the system.
