Ok here goes. If you are doing this on a Mac it really is as simple as selecting the file, hitting enter and manually changing the file extension from .DMG to .ISO, I have done this many times before and it seams to me they are just interchangable, the only thing I would look out for is if the DMG has fancy backgrounds etc. but I don't think that should be a problem. There is a safer but more long winded way to do this through disk utility by mounting the DMG and selecting it in Disk Utility, then click the big new image button at the top and simply look for the ISO option in the drop down menu while you are saving the new image.

Hope this answered your question, Oli.

Have you tried just changing the file extension on Windows from DMG to ISO? I have tried this on windows with various outcomes, mainly with Windows still associating the file with another program even though the extension has changed. Make sure you have a backup copy of the DMG just to be safe.

I hope this works for you, Oli.

too bad you don't have a mac.
you could've used damage isolation, a one-step app.
apparently magic iso will do it.

He previously said he is on Seven not Mac.

Also I apologise for my poor grammar in my previous post, the batteries in my keyboard died so I had to try and correct it only using the mouse :p

Oli

Sorry quoted you before you amended it. :p

Just found this, I think it runs in command prompt which is a pain but as long as you know how to change directory it's fine. Convert dmg to iso with dmg2iso

I was just trying to convert a BIG (7+gig) mac file to iso today myself and couldn't no matter what I tried.. though in my case the image might have been bad.......

ImgBurn didn't show mac file support at least on the web site... it does show NRG which is nero...

If anyone does find something that works that would be nice..
